Conference Overview and Target Audience

This conference is designed for all professionals in healthcare and healthcare students. The overall purpose is to augment the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of self-care, workplace safety, and resilience for nurses and other healthcare professionals. It will highlight the significance of the nurses’ roles from the bedside to the boardroom and to appreciate their leadership in promoting health for themselves and others to build a healthy nation.

National Association of Indian Nurses of America is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Provider Number P 0584.


Upon completion of the activity, participants will be able to:

   • Identify the impact of workplace violence and interpret workplace safety practices in relation to nurses’ health

   • Participate in activities that enhance resilience in healthcare

   • Explore the five domains of Healthy nurse, Healthy Nation.TM

  • Discuss the strategies to maintain a balance of personal and professional well-being

  • Describe the significance and actions for being a healthy nurse in creating a healthy nation

Call for Souvenir Articles for NAINA Leadership Conference

Conference Theme: Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation: Leading from Bedside to Boardroom

We are excited to request articles, poems, stories and anecdotes for the souvenir that will be released at the NAINA Leadership Conference.

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for NAINA members to write and contribute articles of interest to express yourselves, to inform, entertain and persuade readers or to create a literary piece of work.

Requirements for submitting articles for the Souvenir

  1. Title: Should be such that it should let the reader know what to expect in the article, poem, story, memoir or narrative
  2. Photo : Include a recent photograph (passport size) of the author
  3. Brief personal information: Include 2-3 sentences about the author, we would like to share it along with the article

Example: John Doe, BSN, NE-BC, RN is the Nurse Manager of the Geriatric Unit (4S), Florida General Hospital, Miami, Florida. His research interests include falls prevention and early detection of acute dementia in the elderly patients.

  1. The article, poem, story, memoir or narrative (if applicable) should:
    1. Start with a small paragraph that shows the outline of the article
    2. Be relevant to the title
    3. Be descriptive, informative, and interesting to the readers
    4. Be 1-2 pages in length for an article, story, memoir, narrative and anecdote. This requirement does not apply to poems.
    5. Use 12-point type in Times New Roman, single-space with 1″ margin all around.
  1. References are not required, however, should you choose to cite or include references, please make sure that:
    1. It is in APA format (should you need assistance, one of us in the souvenir committee who will review your article/s will help, contact information is shown below)
    2. The references should be within five to seven years prior to the date of your article 
  1. Responsibility for content of the article/s: The author
    1. Assumes all responsibility for the content of the article
    2. Is required to adhere to copyright guidelines
    3. Must give credit if another author’s content is used in your article by citing the author correctly
